Flat Roof

A flat roof is a roof which is almost level in contrast to the many types of sloped roofs. The slope of a roof is properly known as its pitch and flat roofs have up to approximately 10°. Flat roofs are an ancient form mostly used in arid climates and allow the roof space to be used as a living space or a living roof.

Torch Down

Torch down roofing (sometimes referred to as “torch on” roofing) is so named because it requires an open-flame propane torch. In this installation method, sheets of modified bitumen are rolled out onto the roof, and a roofing professional uses a hand-held propane torch to heat the material and adhere it to the surface.

TPO, EPDM and PVC Roofing

TPO roofing reflects sunlight, allowing commercial air conditioners to work more efficiently; whereas EPDM has a dark surface, which in summer conditions will absorb heat, forcing cooling systems to work overtime. TPO offers reduced cooling costs and energy savings for facilities located in warmer climates.

plywood

Plywood

The most common materials for this are oriented strand board (OSB) or plywood, both formed of layers of wood bonded into a panel. Plywood used for roof decking is typically called sheathing and carries a grade stamp indicating its load and span ratings and other performance factors

Silicon Roof and Deck Coating

Roof Coating

A roof coating is a monolithic, fully adhered, fluid applied roofing membrane. Many roof coatings are elastomeric, that is, they have elastic properties that allow them to stretch and return to their original shape without damage.

Typical roof coating dry film thickness vary from paint film thickness to more than 1 mm. This means a roof coating actually becomes the top layer of a composite roof membrane and underlying system. As such, the roof coating is the topmost layer of protection for the membrane, receiving the impact of sunlight (both infrared and ultraviolet (UV), rain, hail and physical damage.
